Overtaking Lane began as a simple idea between a father and son who loved cars, racing, and the people who bring the scene to life. What started as weekend trips to local meets and filming the action for YouTube has grown into one of Australia’s most trusted grassroots motorsport media teams.
Founded by Dave and Tyler Hamilton, Overtaking Lane first focused on capturing builds, car culture, and events around South East Queensland. Our goal was always the same: shine a positive light on the scene and share the stories that don’t always make the headlines.
As the audience grew, so did the opportunities. Before long, we found ourselves travelling across the country, working with tracks, promoters, and racers to bring high-quality live streams to fans everywhere. Today, live production is at the heart of what we do. Whether it’s a major drag racing event, a burnout comp, or a community fundraiser, we’re proud to deliver multi-camera coverage that feels professional, personal, and connected to the people watching.
But even with all the cameras, cables and big weekends, the heart of Overtaking Lane hasn’t changed. We’re still a family-run team who simply love the sport. We care about the racers, the fans, the sponsors, and the volunteers who keep the scene alive.
